Truly. Your time, your attention, your heart—it means everything.
This story is deeply personal. And what you saw tonight is just the beginning.
We’ve got a special announcement… and it’s the soft launch of something close to my heart.
We’re creating a new version called The Remember Balloons Live!—premiering Spring 2026. It’s an expanded, more powerful re-telling of the same story, now with:
A full 90-minute live show
10 local jazz musicians + 10 members of the Akron Symphony Orchestra
A new character, “Dad,” bringing even more emotional depth
And a partnership with PBS Western Reserve to film the show and submit it for national PBS syndication
Here’s where I need to be real with you.
I never wanted The Block to be a space where I ask you for direct support of a project.
This has always been a place for deep reflection and connection. And honestly, I was afraid that fundraising here might break the trust we’ve built together.
But the truth is: the arts are struggling. And if we’re going to bring this next version of The Remember Balloons to life—and capture it on screen so it can reach millions of families all across the country—I have to ask.
So here it is:
We’re launching Hold the Story: 1,000 Gifts for a National Moment.
We’re asking 1,000 people to give $100 to help us fully realize this new work, film it in front of a live audience for camera, and submit it to the national PBS branch for syndication consideration.
If 150 people of The Block’s 700+ community joins us in this first wave, we’ll be on track to begin production this fall and premiere in spring 2026.
This isn’t easy to write. But I believe in the work. I believe in what stories can do.
And if you do too, I’d be honored to have you be a part of it.
You can give at here
and as always
thanks for rockin with me.
Ya boy,
Dom
